Little Gunner Spotlight: Combat Sports

Little Gunner Sports Editor Kyle Carroll takes a trip to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to spotlight an exciting Combat Sports event called the Who's Next Combat Championship 8.

"A Lumberjack in the Rain Forest"

                               By Kyle Carroll, Sports Editor
Fighters from all across Wisconsin put on at an astonishing event inside the cage at Oshkosh on Saturday, April 30.  I had front row seats to the Who's Next Combat Championship 8, an amateur combat sports event that hosted some exciting fighters at all different stages of their careers.  And it did not disappoint.

In the Main Event, a powerful newcomer Greg Klemp, who spends his days as a welder,  earned a triumphant unanimous decision over the crowd favorite Nick Cooper.  In his first ever fight, Klemp used an assortment of punishing kicks to chop down Cooper like a lumberjack destroying a rainforest.  (Entire Match Follows Story)

The fight card was stacked with quality fights and talented kick-boxers.  Despite its' amateur status there was plenty of talented veterans and explosive up-and-comers who thrilled the crowd with an arrary of quick attacks.  Zak Ottow, Jake Klipp, Lance Spaude and Greg Klemp all earned impressive victories in their matches.

One moment that I will never forget (especially sitting ringside) came from a lethal back-side kick that Chuck Bergs landed early-on, in his victory over Jake Varney. The devastating kick really encapsulated the energy and violence on display that night.

Overall, the WNCC 8 was an incredible event.  I look forward to bringing you more intense Combat Sports action right here on Little Gunner Media.
